#3 - Tecnica Top 5 - 20/3/17

Welcome to Tecnica Top 5, our weekly look around the leagues from across the globe 🌍

Remember The Name!

This weeks Tecnica MVP award goes to teenage sensation and Monaco hitman Kylian Mbappe.

The young Frenchman has now racked up 12 goals in just 11 Ligue 1 appearances this season. His latest double coming in a 3.0 demolition of Caen this weekend. Mbappe is a player currently demonstrating a confident ability to carry the ball and clearly looks a natural finisher. One to watch.

Chris Wood Goal Machine

The New Zealand forward will be jetting off on international duty have secured another 3 points for his club side Leeds United with two goals against automatic promotion chasers Brighton.

Sitting as the Championship top goalscorer and having claimed a spot in the EFL Team of the season it is easy to see why having contributed 46% of the teams overall goals tally.

Lanzini Stepping Up

For those who watched the West Ham v Leicester game this weekend we are sure Argentinian playmaker Manuel Lanzini impressed despite ending up on the losing side. His movement, link up play and creativity constantly threatened The Foxes. If you want to see some quality tekkers this weekend then look no further than his beautiful free kick which left in form Kasper Schmeichel stranded.

Barca overcome stubborn Valencia

It wouldn’t be a weekend without Barcelona serving up gladiatorial entertainment! We are not totally convinced by Luis Enrique’s tinkered 3-4-3 it certainly leaves them vulnerable but they are untouchable when going forward. Messi and Neymar completed 14 dribbles between them, with Messi grabbing himself another two goals eventually grinding down Salvador González and his Valencia side.

Four In Two

Not a bad seven days for Napoli’s left forward Lorenzo Insigne. Fans of computer game Fifa will know all about his strengths and versatility. If allowed to influence the game then Insigne will usually provide the end product which Crotone and now Empoli have found during the past two games. 12 goals and 7 assists so far this season in Serie A is not a bad return.
